James Kahn Biography

James Kahn is an American medical specialist and writer, best known for his novelization of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.[1] Born in Chicago on December 30, 1947, Kahn received a degree in medical studies from the University of Chicago. His post-graduate training, specializing in Emergency Medicine, was completed at USC-LA County Hospital and UCLA. His original work includes three novels in the New World series: World Enough, and Time (1980), Time’s Dark Laughter (1982), and Timefall (1987). As well as Return of the Jedi, he wrote the novelizations of the films Poltergeist and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He has also written for well-known television series such as Melrose Place and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was the producer of Melrose Place from 1996 to 1998.

Star Wars Episode 5 Empire Strikes Back is a novel based on science fiction written by Donald F. Glut and it is first published on April 12, 1980 by Del Rey. The novel is based on the script of the film The Empire Strikes Back. The film is directed by Irvin Kershner. The film is set three years after Star Wars.In 2010, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant.”

Donald F. Glut (born February 19, 1944) is an American writer, motion picture director, screenwriter, amateur palaeontologist, musician and actor. He is best known for writing the novelization of the second Star Wars film, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
