SSC CGL Exam 2016 – Combined Graduate Level Examination

Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2016 (Tier-I) on SUNDAY the 8th May, 2016 & 22nd May, 2016 and if necessary, on subsequent Saturdays/Sundays, in different batches, for selecting candidates for Tier-II examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations. Subject to administrative / public exigencies, final selection through the Combined Graduate Level Examination to specific categories of posts would be subject to receipt of intimation of confirmed number of vacancies from the concerned Indenting Ministries/ Department/Office/Cadres before declaration of results.

SSC CGL Exam 2016 Eligibility Criteria

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

1.) Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.

2.) Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a
recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard
level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree
level.

3.) All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

For posts of Assistants (CSS), Computer Proficiency Test has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification

AGE LIMIT

Age limit will be reckoned as on 1st February, 2016:
(i) For Post for which age limit is 20-27 years He/she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1989 and not later than 01.08.1996
(ii) For Post for which age limit is 18-27 years He/she must have been born not earlier than
02.08.1989 and not later than 01.08.1998
(iii) For Post for which age limit is 18-25 years He/she must have been born not earlier than
02.08.1991 and not later than 01.08.1998
(iv) For Post for which age limit is 21-27 years He/she must have been born not earlier than
02.08.1989 and not later than 01.08.1995
(v) For Post for which age limit is 20-30 years He/she must have been born not earlier than
02.08.1986 and not later than 01.08.1996
(vi) For Post for which age limit is upto 30 years He/she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1986 and not later than 01.08.1998
(vii) For Post for which age limit is upto 32 years He/she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1984 and not later than 01.08.1998

Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate only
will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for
change will be considered or granted.

Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the
Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility
certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

SSC CGL Exam 2016 Application Procedure

SSC CGL Exam 2016 Online Application Form contains two format online and offline. Interested and Eligible candidate can apply either by online or by offline mode as per the scheduled date. The link for both is given below.

Instructions for Online Application:
1. Log on to ssconline.nic.in or ssconline2.gov.in.
2. Select the appropriate advertisement link.
3. Candidates have to fill online application in two parts i.e., Part-I Registration, Part-II Registration..
4. Candidates must fill basic information in Part-I Registration and submit error free application.
5. After completion of Part-I Registration, candidates must pay the fee as through online mode.
6. Now continue with Part-II Registration, Enter all the details regarding fee, uploading scanned copy of photograph and signature
7. Submit error free application form.
8. On completion of Part-II Registration Email will be sent to the candidates Email ID. Take a copy of that Email & Challan for future use.

APPLICATION FEE

For Online Mode

Payment in case of online applications can be done through SBI bank challan or net banking portal. The challan has to be downloaded, printed and submitted at any CBS branch of SBI. While opting for net-banking, submit the details of password, ID to make the payment.

For Offline Mode

Candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.100 as application fee through CRF stamps which can be bought from the post office. These stamps have to be cancelled by the postal office before pasting on the application form. If the stamps are not cancelled, the application form would be rejected

Exemption of Fee

Fee is exempted for all women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per the norms of Government of India.

The Commission reserves the right to make changes in the scheme of examination such as conduct of Tier-I and Tier-II of SSC CGL Exam 2016 in on-line mode, treating Tier-I examination as only qualifying and not conducting personality test cum interview for some or all posts etc.

The selection procedure for filling up various posts in SSC CGL Exam 2016 are as follows:

Personality Test/ Interview

For posts for which Interview cum Personality Test is prescribed, the Personality Test/ interview will carry a maximum of 100 marks.

The interview will be held at the Commission’s Regional /Sub Regional Offices of the Commission or at any other place as decided by the Commission.

SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid TA as per Govt. Orders. However, no TA is payable to any candidate for appearing in the written examination.

Skill Test

For the post of Tax Assistants ( Central Excise & Income Tax): Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) at 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer.

The “Data Entry Speed” Skill Test at 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes will be of qualifying nature. Computer will be provided by the Commission at the Centre/venue notified for the purpose. Candidates shall not be allowed to bring their own Key-board.

Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, will be eligible to appear in the SKILL TEST. The SKILL TEST will be held at the Commission’s Regional/Sub Regional Offices or at other Centres as may be decided by the Commission.

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

The CPT will be conducted in the manner decided by the Commission for the purpose .

Document Verification

All candidates are required to come for document verification. Those failing to do so will not be considered for final selection. Candidates are also required to submit all documents in original for verification at the time of document verification. Revised options for posts will not be taken at the time of document verification. The options exercised in the application form are final.

After the Written Examination and the Interview /Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/Document verification wherever applicable, the Commission will draw up the All India Merit List for each category of post. As many candidates as are found by the Commission to have qualified in the Examination shall be recommended for appointment for each category of post up to the number of vacancies available, taking into consideration option for the posts

SSC CHSL Exam 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must be an a citizen of India,or subject of Nepal and Bhutan.

Educational Qualification

Candidate should have passed class XII or Intermediate exam or equivalent from a state or central recognized institute.

Nationality / Citizenship:

The speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer and the test will be for 15 minutes with printed matter in English

  • Typing Test for Lower Division Clerks

Should have typing speed of 35 words per minute for candidates opting English medium and 30 words for for Hindi medium.

SSC Stenographers Exam 2016 – Grade C & D Recruitment

Eligibility criteria for SSC Stenographers Exam 2016 is given below. Candidate can check all the details before applying

Nationality / Citizenship:

A candidate must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or

Permissible relaxations of Upper age limit for different categories are as under

As per Supreme Court direction dated 24.02.1995 in Appeal No.731-69 of 1994, Age relaxation will be available for Group-‘C’ posts in the O/o RGI(Registrar General of India) for retrenched Census employees as under:-

  • Age relaxation by 3 years plus length of service rendered by them in connection with census, before retrenchment ,
  • Weightage of past service.

Educational Qualifications ( As on 01.08.2016):

  • Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. 44 dated 01.03.1995 published in Gazette of India edition dated 08.04.1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized for the period when the candidates acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
  • Candidates who have not acquired but will acquire the educational qualification and acquire documentary evidence from the Board/University in support thereof as on 01.08.2016 will also be eligible
  • All candidates who are called for appearing at the Skill Test will be required to produce the relevant Certificate in Original such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificate, etc. as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before 01.08.2016 failing which the candidature of such candidate will be cancelled by the Commission. The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cutoff date and he/she has been declared passed, will also be considered to have the required Educational Qualification

Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. Candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.

Provided that SC, ST, OBC, and PH (PWD) candidates, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, alongwith candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. Such SC, ST, OBC, and PH (PWD) candidates will be accommodated against the general/unreserved vacancies as per their position in the overall Merit List

SSC Stenographers Exam 2016 Exam Pattern

The Examination pattern of SSC Stenographers Exam 2016 will consist of a written examination and skill test in stenography.

1. The written examination will consist of one objective type paper as shown below

The questions except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

2. Skill test in Stenography

Commission will only be called for the Skill Test. It may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of the Written Examination. THE SKILL TEST WILL BE OF QUALIFYING NATURE and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates.

The candidates will have to appear for the stenography test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only. The evaluation of transcription will be done electronically only. The transcription time is as follows

For Stenographer Grade ‘D’ : 50 minutes ( English ) 65 minutes ( Hindi )

For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 40 minutes ( English ) 55 Minutes ( Hindi )

SSC Stenographers Exam 2016 General Instruction

  • 12th Standard Passfrom a recognized board/university is the minimum qualification. The SSC Stenographers Exam 2016 will comprise of a Written Objective Type Examination followed by Skill Test in Stenography at 100 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ &’D’ respectively.
  • The candidates are advised to go through the requirements of educational qualification, age etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible before applying. Copies of supporting documents will be sought only from those candidates who qualify for the skill test. At the time of scrutiny if any claim made in the application is not found substantiated, the candidature will be cancelled. The Commission’s decision shall be final.
  • Candidates are advised that skill test in stenography is mandatory and, therefore, those without knowledge of stenography should avoid applying for the examination.
  • Candidates seeking reservation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC/PH( PWD)/EXS must ensure that they should also be in possession of the certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim at the time of skill test.Copies of the certificate, etc. will be sought at the time of Skill Test of Stenography
  • Candidates with visual disability/Cerebral palsy of 40% and more only would be considered as VISUALLY HANDICAPPED (VH) for availing reservation for VH, wherever, such reservation is applicable
