Formed 1940

HAL was established as Hindustan Aircraft in Bangalore in 1940. It is an Indian aerospace and defence company with Headquarters based in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is governed under the management of the Indian Ministry of Defence. HAL include Nasik, Korwa, Kanpur, Koraput, Lucknow, Bangalore and Hyderabad as its production Unit. These include manufacturing and assembly of aircraft, navigation and related communication equipment and airports operation.

HAL Major products are ALH (Advanced Light Helicopter) and LCA (Light Combat Aircraft).


Founded 1940

Boeing’s relationship with India on the defense front goes back to the 1940s, when the Indian Air Force enlisted two Boeing aircraft. Headquartered in Delhi, Boeing’s India operations include a Boeing Research & Technology center in Bangalore and field service offices in Mumbai, Hindan, Rajali, Chennai and New Delhi. On January 1, 2009, the government of India ordered eight advanced antisubmarine and antisurface warfare aircraft. Air India has been a Boeing Commercial Airplanes customer since 1960.

BEL is fomed in 1954 with its headquarters at Bangalore. It runs Indian Government and primarily manufactures advanced electronic products for the Indian Armed Forces. BEL is one of nine PSUs under the Ministry of Defence of India. It has been accorded Navratna status by the Government of India. Over the years, it has grown into a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-unit company servicing the needs of customers in diverse fields in India and abroad. BEL is having 9 production Unit.

It is dealing in Radars, Weapon Systems, Simulators, Avionics, Electronic Warfare Systems, etc. as its major products.


Formed 1958

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was established in 1958 by Defence Science Organisation. Work under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The DRDO is an agency of the Republic of India, charged with the military’s research and development, headquartered in New Delhi, India. With 52 laboratories, which are engaged in developing defence technologies covering various fields, like aeronautics, armaments, electronics, land combat engineering, life sciences, materials, missiles, and naval systems.

It is dealing in aircraft avionics, UAVs, small arms, artillery systems, EW Systems, tanks and armored vehicles, sonar systems, command and control systems and missile systems.


Founded 1959

National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) was established by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at Delhi in 1959 and its headquarters was later moved to Bangalore. It is India’s second largest aerospace firm after Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL).

It develop aerospace technologies with strong science content, design and build small and medium-sized civil aircraft, and support all national aerospace programmes.

Formed in 1969 headquartered in the city of Bengaluru. Its vision is to “harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration. The establishment of ISRO is to performed space activities in India. ISRO built India’s first satellite, Aryabhata, which was launched on 19 April in 1975. ISRO has carried out 75 spacecraft missions, 46 launch missions. 51 foreign satellites have been launched by ISRO’s launch vehicles,and 28 ISRO satellites by foreign launch vehicles.
