Eligibility Criteria for KMRL Recruitment 2015

Educational Qualification

For Maintainers :

  • SSLC pass with ITI (Two years) with 60% aggregate marks for UR/OBC/ Ex.S candidates & 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil trades. Working knowledge of Malayalam language is compulsory. This will be subject to verification before selection.
  • Only ITI certificate holder in Fitter under Mechanical trade, Electrician under Electrical trade, Electronics under Electronics trade and Draftsman Civil under civil trade will be considered eligible for applying against Maintainers.

Train Operator/ Station Controllers:

  • Diploma (Three years) from a Govt. recognized Institute with 60% aggregate marks for UR/OBC/ Ex.S candidates & 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics trades. Knowledge of Malayalam language in all the three attributes ie Read, Speak and write is compulsory. This will be subject to verification before selection.
  • Only Diploma certificate holder in Mechanical under Mechanical trade Electrical under Electrical trade and Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication under Electronics trade will be considered eligible for applying against Train Operator/Station Controllers.

Junior Engineers:

  • A Three year Diploma from a Govt. recognized Institute with 60% aggregate marks for UR/OBC/ Ex.S candidates & 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil trades. Working knowledge of Malayalam language is compulsory. This will be subject to verification before selection.
  • Only Diploma certificate holder in Mechanical under Mechanical trade, Electrical under Electrical trade, Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics& Telecommunication under Electronics trade and Civil under Civil trade will be considered eligible for applying against Junior Engineers.

Section Engineers:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering.from a Govt. recognized university / Institute with 60% aggregate marks for UR/OBC/ Ex.S candidates & 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil disciplines. Working knowledge of Malayalam language is compulsory. This will be subject to verification before selection.
  • Only BTech/BE or equivalent degree in Mechanical under Mechanical stream, Electrical under Electrical Stream, Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics& Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Industrial Electronics under Electronics Stream and Civil under Civil stream will be considered eligible for applying against Section Engineers.

AGE (as on 01.10.2015)

  • For the post of Maintainers :Above 18 years – Below 24 years i.e. candidates should have been born not earlier than 02.10.1991, but not later than 01.10.1997.
  • For the post of Train operator/ Station Controller/Junior Engineers Above 18 years – Below 25 years i.e. candidates should have been born not earlier than 02.10.1990, but not later than 01.10.1997.
  • For the post of Section Engineers :Above 18 years – Below 26 years i.e. candidates should have been born not earlier than 02.10.1989, but not later than 01.10.1997

Relaxation of upper age limit

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe Candidates – 5 years
  • Other Backward Class Candidates – 3 years
  • Ex . Servicemen – Actual year of qualified service + 3 years

Application Form for KMRL Recruitment 2015

KMRL Application Form can be filled by following three simple steps which are as:

Before applying online, candidates should

  • Scan their photograph and signature
  • Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no
Application Registration
  • Candidates may go to the KMRL website www.kochimetro.org and click on the option “APPLY ONLINE” which will open a new screen.
  • To register application, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password.
  • In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he / she can save the data already entered by choosing “SAVE AND NEXT” tab.
  • Candidates are advised to carefully fill and verify the details filled in the online application themselves as no change will be possible/entertained after clicking the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON.
  • Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the ‘Validate your details’ and ‘Save & Next’ button.
  • Candidates can proceed to upload Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.
  • Candidates can proceed to fill other details of the Application Form.
  • Click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before FINAL SUBMIT.
  • Modify details, if required, and click on ‘FINAL SUBMIT’ ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.
  • Click on ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed for payment.
  • Click on ‘Submit’ button.
Payment of Fees

The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets

On successful completion of the transaction, an e-Receipt will be generated.

Photograph and Signature Scan Upload

Photograph Image

  • Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels
  • Size of file should be between 20kb-50kb

Signature Image

  • The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person
  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels
  • Size of file should be between 10kb —20kb.
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20KB

Call Letter of KMRL Recruitment 2015

Candidates will have to visit KMRL ’s website www.kochimetro.org for downloading call letters for online test. Intimation for downloading call letter will also be sent through email/SMS, about ten days in advance of the date of examination. Once the candidate clicks the relevant link, he/she can access the window for call letter download. The candidate is required to use

  • Registration Number/Roll Number,
  • Password/Date of Birth for downloading the call letter.

Candidate needs to affix recent recognizable photograph on the call letter preferably the same as provided during registration and appear at the examination centre with

  • Photo Identity Proof as specified in the call letter and photocopy of the same Photo Identity Proof as brought in original.

CANDIDATES REPORTING LATE i.e. after the reporting time specified on the call letter for Examination will not be permitted to take the examination. The reporting time mentioned on the call letter is prior to the Start time of the test. Though the duration of the examination is 2 hours, candidates may be required to be at the venue for about 4 hours including the time required for completion of various formalities such as verification and collection of various requisite documents, logging in, giving of instructions.

Selection Procedure for KMRL Recruitment 2015

The selection of the candidates for KMRL Recruitment 2015 shall be made on the basis of:

  1. Online Test and medical examination for Maintainers and Junior Engineers.
  2. Online Test, medical examination and Psychometric test for the post of Train Operators/ Station Controllers.
  3. Online Test, medical examination and Interview for Section Engineers.

Note: Medical standards (as per Indian Railway Medical standards) required for qualifying a candidate for the above posts

The Online Test other than Malayalam language proficiency test will be conducted in English. There will be an online test of Malayalam language also for all posts. Minimum passing in Malayalam test as well as other tests as stipulated/decided by KMRL will be applicable

Exam Pattern for KMRL Recruitment 2015

The test will consist of 3 parts, Part-1, Part-2 and Part-3.

  • Part 1– Malayalam language (10% marks). Candidates scoring minimum 40% marks in part-1 (Malayalam language) will only considered eligible for the post of Section Engineers. For other parts/tests minimum passing will be decided by KMRL.
  • Part-2– Aptitude (40% marks) consisting of Quantitative aptitude, Test of reasoning, General English and General Knowledge.
  • Part 3-Technical Aptitude (50% marks) in the respective discipline.

The questions under part -1 will be of multiple choice, objective type and available in Malayalam. The part 2 & 3 will be of multiple-choice, objective type and available in English.

ASSISTANT MANAGER 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • GATE qualified candidates for the year 2014. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks or equivalent in B.E./B.Tech (Civil) from a Govt. recognized University / Institute, with a valid GATE Score in 2014

AGE LIMIT

  • 28 years (18 years to 28 years i.e born not earlier than 02/07/87 and not later than 018/07/97)

JUNIOR ENGINEER

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized Institutes or equivalent.

AGE LIMIT

  • 28 years (18 years to 28 years i.e born not earlier than 02/07/87 and not later than 018/07/97)

CONCESSION & RELAXATIONS

  • Upper Age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates (of central list) (Formats are available on DMRC Website for reserved posts)
  • Upper Age relaxation for candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir who had ordinarily been domiciled in state between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989.
  • Upper age for Ex-servicemen will be length of service +3 years, subject to a maximum age of 40 years. The Ex-servicemen are those who are covered in the definition, as per extant rules of Ministry of Defence/Govt of India.
  • Reservation for Ex-Servicemen, wherever applicable, shall be treated as horizontal reservation, i.e reservation to Ex-servicemen belonging to any category (UR/SC/ST/OBC) will be adjusted within in the category to which the selected Ex-Serviceman candidate belongs.
  • Existing DMRC employees who have completed at least 3 years/5 years continuous service in DMRC as on 01/07/2015, will be given age relaxation to the extent of 3 years/5 years as on the date of reckoning of age limit for i.e 01/07/2015 for posts in non-executive Cadre and Executive cadre respectively i.e 3 years upper age relaxation for non-executive posts & 5 years upper age relaxation for executive posts

The issue of an DMRC Admit Card or result notification to appear in the Written test/skill Test/Interview/GD/Medical fitness test or the fact of having passed these tests or having been placed on the final merit list, will not be a proof of any candidates eligibility.

SELECTION PROCESS FOR DMRC RECRUITMENT 2015

The selection methodology for Assistant Manager (Civil) – will comprise of a three-stage process Written Test (two papers), Group Discussion and Personal Interview followed by Medical Examination in the respective category.

EXAM PATTERN FOR DMRC RECRUITMENT 2015

WRITTEN TEST

The Written test will comprise of two papers Paper I and Paper II to be held on the same day at the same centre.

  • Paper I – It will consist of multiple choice objective type questions, bilingual (Hindi/English) on General Awareness, Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and Knowledge of the Discipline/Trade. There will be a total of 120 question each carrying equal marks. There will be negative marking, for every wrong answer one third (1 /3) mark will be deducted. The Paper I duration will be 90 minutes.
  • Paper II – It will consist of multiple choice objective type questions on General English to judge the knowledge of English language. There will be a total of 60 questions each carrying equal marks. There will be negative marking, for every wrong answer one third (1 /3) mark will be deducted. The Paper II duration will be 45 minutes.

Candidates who qualify paper I and rank high on the merit list within the zone of consideration as decided by DMRC, will only be evaluated for Paper II. The successful candidates based on the written test (Paper I & II put together) shall be called for Group Discussion/Interview Test at Delhi NCR.

For Assistant Manager (Civil)

  • Candidate having valid GATE 2014 or 2015 score in Civil will only be called for written test and subsequent for Group Discussion/Interview. Only Gate 2014 or 2015 score is valid for this recruitment process. The score is valid only if the candidate obtains more than or equal to the qualifying marks as fixed for the above paper by GATE 2014 or 2015. The qualifying marks for GATE 2014 or 2015 examination shall be as per the criteria adopted by conducting authority of GATE 2014 or 2015 Examination.

The candidate for all posts (all categories) to be called for Group Discussion/Interview as the case may be, at Delhi and shall be paid to and from sleeper class railway fare for journey by the shortest route between railway station nearest to hometown and Delhi. No reimbursement shall be made to the candidates appearing for the written examination.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

  • All candidates shall have to undergo the medical fitness test(s) and meet the medical standards prescribed by DMRC for respective post. Expenses for the first time medical examination of the candidate will be borne by DMRC, however in case candidate seeks extension for joining, then the second time, if need so arises, the expenditure of Test/s will be borne by the candidate himself or herself. Candidates having undergone LASIK surgery are not eligible for any post.

SURETY BOND

The candidates selected for post of Assistant Manager (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Civil) will have to execute a surety bond of Rs. 1,50,000/- & Rs. 75,000/- respectively & Cost of training along with applicable service tax to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years (exclusive of the period in which one remained on LWP or EOL) and also a three months prior notice, will be required before seeking resignation from the corporation.

HOW TO APPLY FOR DMRC

  • Candidates are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active during the currency of this recruitment process. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/ her new e-mail ID before applying online. Under no circumstances, he/she should share/mention e-mail ID to/of any other person
  • He/she should thoroughly go through the vacancy notification first to let him/her know the eligibility, age criteria etc.
  • Candidates are required to click the link “generation of the BANK CHALLAN” (fee payment voucher) and enter necessary details like Name, Date of birth, Mobile no and Amount.
  • A Bank Challan with Bank Reference Number (the reference number will be unique) will be generated.
  • The Bank Challan will be generated only up to 20/09/2015 (upto 23.59 hrs) from the date of issue of advertisement.
  • The system generated Bank Challan will be in triplicate (1st Copy – Bank Copy, 2nd CopyCandidate‟s Copy and 3rd Copy-DMRC‟s copy). Candidates are required to take a print out of this system generated Bank Challan and deposit the requisite Written Examination Fee (for fee details see para “Payment of application fee”) in any branch of State Bank Of India (SBI) after a minimum of 24 hrs of generation of the Bank Challan only, State Bank of India (SBI) has been authorized by DMRC to collect the application fee, in a specially opened DMRC Account No. 33700092265.
  • Candidates are now ready to apply online, only after a minimum of two working dates of depositing the fee in the bank, by re-visiting the career link i.e., “DMRC/PERS/22/HR/2015 (71) & (72)” on DMRC‟s website www.delhimetrorail.com and by going to sub link titles “Apply Online” and follow the instructions given therein carefully for Online Registration.
  • Kindly select the post applied for and fill in the requisite details in the online application format. All the fields in the online application format should be filled up carefully. There will be a pre-view of the application filled in by the candidates before submitting the application, so that it can be edited. After submission of the application, no modification will be permitted
  • Candidates will have to upload scanned copy of GATE-2014 or 2015 Score card, passport colour photo, signature scan copy, prescribed qualification/Marksheet, OBC/SC/ST certificates. The size of these scanned copies should be within 100kb and in pdf files only.
  • Once you submit your application, the system will generate a unique Registration No. and generate a Registration Slip, which will have unique Registration number your basic details like name, category and post applied for.
  • Community/Caste certificate in Central formats (SC/ST/OBC), for seeking age relaxation etc, with the registration slip. (All these formats are available on DMRC‟s website DMRC website www.delhimetrorail.com). No other format will be acceptable.

APPLICATION FEE

UR & OBC (including Ex-servicemen) candidates are required to pay a Non-refundable fee of Rs. 400/- (inclusive of bank charges plus service tax) and SC/ST candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 150/- (for processing fee only, inclusive of bank charges plus service tax).

COMPLETE INFORMATION OF DMRC
